These terms explain the rules for using Free - Resume. They’re written in plain language. By creating an account or using the website, you agree to them, and to our Privacy Policy.
The service
Free - Resume is a free website for creating resumes and cover letters. We work to keep it running well and may add, change, or remove features over time. We may also pause or stop the service. If we plan to shut it down, we will try to give you notice so you can download your documents.
Free - Resume helps you present yourself, but we can’t promise that a resume made with it will get you an interview or a job. Templates marked “ATS” are designed to be read reliably by applicant tracking systems, but every employer’s system is different.
Your account
Guest mode: you can use Free - Resume without an account and create one document. Guest documents are stored only in your browser and are deleted automatically 24 hours after you create them. We can’t recover them. Create an account, or download a copy, to keep your work.
Use an email address you own, and keep your password private. You are responsible for what happens in your account.
One person per account. Don’t share your account or create accounts automatically.
If you are under 18, please use Free - Resume with the permission of a parent or guardian.
Each account can keep up to 3 documents (resumes and cover letters combined). We may change this limit in the future.
You can delete your account at any time from your Profile page → Delete account.
Your content
You own what you write. Your resumes, cover letters, and photos belong to you.
You give us permission to store, process, and display your content only to provide the service to you: saving your documents, syncing them to your devices, and creating your PDFs. We don’t use your content for anything else.
You are responsible for what you put in your documents. Make sure it’s accurate, and that you have permission to include other people’s details, such as your character references.
Keep your own copies. We work to keep your documents safe, but we can’t guarantee they will never be lost. Download a PDF or JSON backup of anything important.
Acceptable use
Please don’t use Free - Resume to:
Break the law, or help anyone else break it
Pretend to be someone else, or make documents in another person’s name without their permission
Store or share content that is illegal, hateful, harassing, or that violates someone else’s rights
Try to break into, overload, or disrupt the website, its database, or other people’s accounts
Upload viruses or other harmful code, or use bots to scrape the site or create accounts
If you break these rules, we may suspend or delete the account involved.
Templates and examples
You’re free to use our templates, example resumes, and pre-written suggestions in your own documents, for your own job search, and to share or print the results. Please don’t copy the templates or the suggestion library to sell them or to build a competing product.
Share links
A share link contains the whole document, so anyone you send it to can see it. You decide who receives your links; please share them only with people you trust.
Support the project
Supporting Free - Resume through Buy Me a Coffee is completely optional. It doesn’t unlock extra features or change these terms. Payments are handled by Buy Me a Coffee under their own terms, including any refunds.
Disclaimer and liability
Free - Resume is provided free of charge, “as is” and “as available”, without warranties of any kind. To the extent the law allows, we are not responsible for indirect or consequential losses arising from your use of the service, including lost documents, missed opportunities, or decisions made by employers. Nothing in these terms limits rights you have under Philippine law that cannot be waived.
Changes to these terms
We may update these terms. When we do, we’ll change the date at the top of this page, and for important changes we’ll also let you know in the app or by email. If you keep using Free - Resume after the change, the new terms apply.
Governing law
These terms are governed by the laws of the Republic of the Philippines.
